Information
Jiayue Gu is an illustrator from China. She has studied art since childhood and works in various media, often using Gouache and watercolor. Her work is characterized by a realistic style, vivid compositions, and detailed drawings. For her, art is a companion and channel for expressing her emotions and thoughts. Influenced by her mother's love of plants, much of her work is linked to nature. She is dedicated to exploring the beauty and demeanor of plants and the emotional changes in the images. She believes that plants can heal, soothe people's emotions, and regulate the rhythm of the narrative of her work. Although most of the colors she presents are less saturated, the outcome has a muted, gentle emotional quality. Capturing the unintentional beauty of life is her constant goal.

Her interest in creation also focuses on exploring the logic and change of the human psyche and spirit and the close connection between the changes in the surrounding environment and people. This curiosity exists based on her analysis of her upbringing. Most of her inspirations come from memories of past moments when she was confused about the world and turning points when her mind changed. She remembers those moments of change in her mind and organizes them to create works with subtle emotions. Her focus on the psychological changes in humans has made her more interested in the visual presentation and narrative approach in creating the content of her stories. For Jiayue Gu, feeling all kinds of human emotions, whether positive or negative, makes her feel that she is living in the world vividly.
